Antonio Jesús Juárez Gutiérrez

Born in 1991 in Alcaudete (Jaén). He has a higher degree in oboe from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Granada with an extraordinary end-of-degree award, a degree in Musicology from the University of La Rioja, a degree in Pedagogy from the RCSM “Victoria Eugenia” of Granada and a diploma in teaching from the University from Granada. Likewise, he has four master's degrees: two in the field of interpretation (Oboe Master at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim with Professor Emanuel Abbühl and Master of Interpretation from the International University of Andalusia), a pedagogical master (Master in Secondary Education) and a musicological master's degree (Master of Musical Creation and Performance from the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid).

Regarding the orchestral field, he has been a member of some of the most important young orchestras on the international scene such as the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (GMJO), European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE), Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra (SCHMF), Barenboim-Said Foundation and Andalusian Youth Orchestra (OJA). This has led him to perform with soloists and conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Vasily Petrenko, Sebastian Tewinkel, Lutz Köhler, Jonathan Nott, Pablo Heras Casado, Juanjo Mena, David Afkham, Maximilian Hornung, Thomas Demenga or the Labèque sisters.

He has also performed with various professional orchestras, highlighting his position as oboe soloist in the 2016/2017 season with the BBC Wales Orchestra and collaborating with others such as the National Orchestra of Spain (of which he was an academic between 2016 and 2018), Orchestra Accademia della Scala de Milan (academic between 2015 and 2017), City of Granada Orchestra, Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville and KKO in Mannheim. Currently, he is oboe soloist in Iberian Sinfonietta and Quivir Ensemble.

As a soloist, his performance of Haydn's “Symphony Concertante” with the EUYO (European Union Youth Orchestra) in November 2016 and “The Concerto in C major for oboe and orchestra k. 314” by WA Mozart with the Classical Orchestra of the Royal Conservatory of Music “Victoria Eugenia” of Granada in 2014. Also notable is the Second Prize in the 2015 National Oboe Competition held in Buñol (Valencia) and his participation in the prestigious ARD competition in Munich in 2017.

In the pedagogical field, he has been an oboe teacher at the Professional Conservatories of Seville, Jaén and Guadix (Granada) as well as at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Málaga (between 2018 and 2022). He has also taught advanced courses in Alcaudete and has been invited as a teacher by both the Mitad del Mundo Youth Orchestra in August 2019 in Ecuador and the Provincial Youth Orchestra of Málaga in March 2020. In July 2021, he obtained the competitive examination. oboe professorship and currently (and since September 2022) he is an oboe professor at the “Victoria Eugenia” Royal Conservatory of Music in Granada
