IBERIAN SINFONIETTA PRESENTS A PROGRAM DEDICATED TO THE HARP IN BENALMÁDENA

Next Tuesday, October 25 at 8:00 p.m., the concert that Iberian Sinfonietta will perform within the Classical Nights cycle that the City Council of this town has been holding since last March will take place at the Benalmádena House of Culture . Under the title "Between Romantics and Impressionists" , the concert program will be dedicated to literature written for harp and string orchestra between the periods of Romanticism and Impressionism, alternating works in which this instrument shows signs of timbral and harmonic color. enriching as an integral part of the instrumental template, as well as the literature written for it with a solo function. For this occasion, the orchestra will have the collaboration of the harpist Juan Ramón Hernández Leiva , who in addition to being a nationally recognized harpist, is a prominent personality in the world of cultural management in this town on the Costa del Sol.

Literature written about the harp will characterize the concert

The repertoire will be divided into two parts. The first will include the Fantasia on Greensleeves by the British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, the Adagietto (from Symphony No. 5 in C sharp minor) by the Austrian Gustav Malher and Féerie: Prelude et Danse by the Frenchman Marcel Tournier. After a pause, in the second part the Adagio molto in Eb Major by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus, again by Ralph Vaughan Williams, will be played, ending the program with the Concert Piece for Harp and Orchestra, Op. 154 by Camille Saint-Saëns.

Entry to the concert by invitation

One hour before the concert, invitations to access the concert will be available at the House of Culture, with access being limited until the auditorium is full. On a voluntary basis, anyone who wants can collaborate with a donation of €3, a collection that will go to the different social associations in the town of Benalmádena.
