CONVERSAMOS CON LOS SOLISTAS DEL CONCIERTO "ENTRE ROMANZAS Y BOLEROS" DEL SÁBADO A LAS 12:00 HORAS: LA SOPRANO LUCÍA MILLÁN Y EL BARÍTONO SANTIAGO GARCÍA

WE TALK WITH THE SOLISTS OF THE CONCERT "ENTRE ROMANCES AND BOLEROS" ON SATURDAY AT 12:00 HOURS: THE SOPRANO LUCÍA MILLÁN AND THE BARITONE SANTIAGO GARCÍA

Dear public,

Our January appointment with Iberian Sifonietta is approaching. In it we will enjoy zarzuela and boleros, and we will understand that we are custodians of a very rich musical legacy from Spain and Latin America, which to this day continues to feed on each other.
On this occasion, the selection of works that we present will be performed, together with the Orchestra, with soprano and baritone soloists. Today we talked with them, they both have a very appropriate voice for the repertoire that we present to them. Santiago García has a career in which it is worth highlighting roles with a more dramatic voice such as “Schaunard” from La Boheme by Puccini, he also adapts to the zarzuela repertoire. On this occasion, we will also be able to learn about and enjoy his interpretation of well-known works such as “Toda una vida”, “Perhaps, perhaps perhaps” or “If you tell me come”. But that will be the end, first he will delight us with “We are two boats” by Katiuska , and especially with two works like “I fought the faith for the triumph” by Luisa Fernanda and “Now my happy hours”, by La del soto del parral . Works as beautiful as they are demanding for the voice.
Lucía Millán has a wide career as a soloist, ranging from oratorio to stage tunes or Spanish lyrical songs. Her roles as Marola in La Tabernera del Puerto or Ines de Donizetti. On Saturday I will listen to her sing the Canción de la Paloma del Barberillo de Lavapiés, Marinela, Marinela, or the Andalusian Song by José Serrano.

Together they will perform both zarzuela repertoire and boleros, in one of the most beautiful Concerts of the season.

Question: What do you expect from this Concert?
Answer: Santiago García answered us that, fundamentally, the same thing that I expect from everyone: that all the people who participate in the event, both musicians and audience, enjoy an enriching experience. On the other hand, I hope that it achieves sufficient impact so that this type of initiatives obtain a greater presence in the cultural programs of our province." In this sense, Lucía Millán told us “this Concert is one more step, we continue moving forward”

What is your opinion of this repertoire?
Lucía Millán: “Marinela was my access test to singing studies, a friend who is no longer with us recommended her to me, she is special for me because of that.” Santiago García: “I consider that the repertoire has been correctly selected and will not leave the respectable indifferent. Both the Zarzuela and the Bolero have works of extraordinary beauty that connect with our noblest emotions and values; The pieces selected in this case being good examples of this.”

Where are you at in your career?
Lucía Millán: “The projection is greater every day and this encourages me to move forward despite the storm.” Santiago Millán: “Like most of my professional colleagues, due to the circumstances that occur, among other personal ones, more separated from her than I would like; although I understand that it is very necessary. On a personal level, I increasingly value our work in the face of a society in which art and creativity do not occupy a prominent place in training. Add that, once again, I feel lucky to have the opportunity to express myself and show what people are capable of when we work as a team.”

Thank you very much, all the luck on Saturday January 23rd.
