David Guillén Monje

Full Professor of Trumpet by opposition from the Superior Conservatory of Music of Málaga, David Guillén Monje also has a Graduate in Teaching, specialist in music from the UCA and the UCJC of Madrid, the Master in Musical Heritage from the UGR, as well as a Doctor in History and Arts "cum laude" unanimously at the University of Granada.

He receives classes from teachers such as Antonio González Portillo (CSM Professor of Granada) or Fernando Rey (Cordoba Orchestra) and advice from teachers such as José Ortí (ONE), Douglas Prosser (Rochester Orchestra - USA), John Aigi (Orquesta de Galicia), etc.

Likewise, he takes baroque trumpet classes with the prestigious professor Dr. Edward Tarr in Switzerland. He also takes Jazz trumpet classes with Mike Moosman, Peter Evans and Julián Sánchez.

He has collaborated with the following orchestras and groups: Orchestra of Córdoba (from 1999 to 2013), Orchestra of the Autonomous City of Ceuta (from 2000 to the present), Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, Paris Chamber Orchestra in separate concerts in Germany and Catalonia, “Manuel de Falla” Provincial Orchestra of Cádiz (1999-2010), Spanish-Moroccan Camerata “Aicha” of Tetouan (1998-2000) in Morocco and Spain, Camerata of the Falla Theater of Cádiz, Organ and trumpet duo with the teacher Ángel Hortas throughout Spain (from 1999 to the present).

Regarding modern music, he has belonged to the disappeared Andalusian folk group “Lajambre”, where he performed numerous concerts throughout Spain and Italy. Likewise, he has also participated in the Bigbands of Cádiz in the proclamation of the Carnival of Cádiz, the New Sound Big Band of Málaga and the Bigband of the Mijas Festival. He has recorded in different groups and soloists, including Mikel Erentxu, Navajita Plateá, Tim Armstrong (USA), Los delinqüentes, Lajambre, Cast (Mexico), Santiago Lara, Yuka Imaeda (Japan), Diana Navarro, Josete, Antena 3 Television in the series “The Ulysses Syndrome” with Julio De la Rosa, Orquesta de Córdoba, etc.

Likewise, he has taught masterclasses in different musical centers in Italy such as the “G. Verdi Conservatory” in Como and the “D. Cimarrosa Conservatory” in Avellino, at the University Faculty of Music of Brasov (Transylvania-Romania), at the University of Music in Zagreb (Croatia) and at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, as well as conservatories and Andalusian musical centers.

He is an artist for the prestigious Dutch trumpet brand ADAMS.
