Carlos Lama

Carlos Clemente Lama Calado, native of Seville. He is currently a French Horn professor at the Superior Conservatory of Málaga.

He studied a Higher Degree in the specialty of French Horn at the “Manuel Castillo” Superior Conservatory of Seville under the tutelage of Mr. Luis F. Delgado Peña and continued this training with the Master of Interpretation from the Superior Conservatory of Castilla y León in Salamanca, with the Professor Mr. José Miguel Asensi.

Throughout his training, he has been an active student at the Barenboim-Said Academy of Orchestral Studies for three academic cycles. In addition, he has taken numerous improvement courses and masterclasses with national and international horn players such as: José Sogorb, María Rubio, Javier Bonet, Daniel Bourgue, Rodolfo Epelde, Manuel Antonio Fernández or José Vicente Castelló.

On the symphonic level, he has been part of the Orchestra of the Barenboim-Salid Academy of Orchestral Studies, the City of Salamanca Orchestra and the Álvarez Beigbeder Orchestra of Jerez de la Frontera, also being part of the wind quintet of the latter.

Recently, he has participated in the recording of the album “30 YEARS ACSA”, for the Association of Andalusian Symphonic Composers, as well as in the tour of the Álvarez Beigbeder Quintet through the department of Charente-Maritime (France), performing symphonic recoveries of the Jerez composer and works by Manuel de Falla and Joaquín Turina.

Also noteworthy is the 2021 premiere of the work “Shofar” by JM Cutiño for horn and band at the Juan Rodríguez Romero Theater in Dos Hermanas (Seville).
